On the Big Bounce Singularity of a Simple 5D Cosmological Model

چکیده
The big bounce singularity of a simple 5D cosmological model is studied. Contrary to the standard big bang space-time singularity, this big bounce singularity is found to be an event horizon at which the scale factor and the mass density of the universe are finite, while the pressure undergoes a sudden transition from negative infinity to positive infinity. By using coordinate transformation it is also shown that before the bounce the universe contracts deflationary, and the universe has been existed, according to the proper-time, for an infinitely long time. PACS: 04.50.+h, 98.80.Bp The inflationary cosmology can resolve three important problems of the standard big bang models: the galaxy formation problem, the horizon problem, and the flatness problem. However, there are other deep questions of cosmology which inflation does not resolve: What occurred at the initial singularity? Does time exists before the big bang? These issues have been popular in cosmology for a long time. Tolman firstly discussed an oscillating cosmological model within the framework of general relativity. He pointed out that the main difficulty of such an oscillating model is that the universe e-mail: [email protected]

Brane-world models emerging from collisions of planes waves in 5D
We consider brane-world models embedded in a five-dimensional bulk spacetime with a large extra dimension and a cosmological constant. The cosmology in 5D possesses “wave-like” character in the sense that the metric coefficients in the bulk are assumed to have the form of plane waves propagating in the fifth dimension. We model the brane as the “plane” of collision of waves propagating in oppos...

In Wesson's canonical model, the universe is assumed to be five dimensional (5D) empty space time. This model corresponds to a solution of the Einstein field equation in five dimensions which, from a four dimensional point of view, is equivalent to a universe with a positive cosmological constant. In this model, the fifth direction is perpendicular to the four dimensional space time and is not...
متن کاملTranscending Big Bang in Loop Quantum Cosmology: Recent Advances
We discuss the way non-perturbative quantization of cosmological spacetimes in loop quantum cosmology provides insights on the physics of Planck scale and the resolution of big bang singularity. In recent years, rigorous examination of mathematical and physical aspects of the quantum theory has led to a consistent quantization which is consistent and physically viable and some early ideas have ...
متن کاملQuantum cosmology with a minimal length
Quantum cosmology in the presence of a fundamental minimal length is analyzed in the context of the flat isotropic and the Taub cosmological models. Such minimal scale comes out from a generalized uncertainty principle and the quantization is performed in the minisuperspace representation. Both the quantum Universes are singularity-free and (i) in the isotropic model no evidences for a Big-Boun...
